Recycling Ordinances for Construction and Demolition – Let us help you! Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste is a significant portion of the refuse created in California. As a result, most peninsula cities and surrounding county areas have recycling and diversion ordinances for C&D projects, requiring that a minimum 50% of material waste be diverted from landfills. A recycling/diversion ordinance requires that you submit a refundable deposit when you apply for a project permit. To get your deposit back, you must then submit documentation showing how you recycled and/or diverted your project’s waste materials.
